Online Therapy in Connecticut and Virginia—For When You Can’t “Do it All”

Online Therapy in Connecticut

Stop Feeling Like a Burden. Start Healing Instead.

The pressure is always on, from the moment you wake up. The expectations are high and it feels like you can never meet them—but that’s nothing compared to the even higher expectations, criticism, and shame going on within you. Some days you are running non-stop. You are doing everything for everyone. You keep trying to measure up and be the perfect, smiling person you’re supposed to be.

But it’s a performance.

Deep down, you’re exhausted, drained. And internally? You feel lonely, invisible, guarded, and imperfect. You desperately hope that no one figures it out.

With online therapy, you get to slow downfor once. You can explore the things that keep bugging you and getting in your way, and without navigating a bunch of unknown loopholes or doing what everyone else needs you to do. You get to show up and be real and really honor and take care of yourself. Online therapy in Connecticut and Virginia lets you take your time in your private space to just be.

No pressure, no rush, no expectations.

Instead, you can begin healing on your terms.

What Can I Expect in Online Therapy?

Approaches for Online Therapy in Connecticut and Virginia

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy: You may view some parts of you as “bad” and others as “good,” but IFS allows you to unlock compassion for the many parts of you, the parts of your personality that show up to protect, that are wounded, that hurt. This compassion unlocks healing in a profound way.

  • Sand Tray & Play-based Therapy: I welcome every part of you, exactly as you are. These approaches utilize symbols and metaphor to tap into and deepen your connection to your emotions and needs, enhancing your healing through what is hard to verbalize

  • Interpersonal Neurobiology: This approach combines an understanding of how you relate to others, as well as knowledge of brain science to enhance your awareness of how your body and nervous system have had to survive in the past and present

Nothing makes this easier than practicing in your very own space. Why? You get to immediately take the skills we are practicing through our work together into the world, as it works with and for you.

In your space, you can do that in a number of ways:

  • even being near your pet and/or plants!

It’s part of making your valuable online therapy time safe, approachable, and available to you in a way that meets and tunes into your body’s needs.

(Plus, I personally always have a blanket nearby to be cozy!)

FAQ for Online Therapy

  • Yes, absolutely! The world is increasingly complicated and busy and sometimes, getting to an in-person office, with a therapist who is the right fit and has an opening that works for you is just tough to find. Online therapy increases your options and the likelihood that you can do the meaningful, deep work that you have been looking for, in a way that truly works for you.

  • Online therapy offers so much flexibility. If you travel between Connecticut and Virginia, we will still be able to meet. I am able to meet with you in a location that I am licensed in. However, if you are physically located outside of CT and or VA, we are unable to meet throughout the duration of that time period.

  • My rate is $200 for a 50-55-minute session.

Online therapy is a short-term investment for your long-term healing and recovery. As an out-of-network provider, I am able to offer you an invoice (called a Superbill) for reimbursement. How you get reimbursed depends on your insurance’s specific plan.

  • Online therapy removes multiple barriers to accessing mental health care: it’s easy, flexible, convenient, AND confidential. I utilize a HIPAA-compliant, secure video platform to allow us to meet for our therapy sessions with privacy. Online therapy creates increased availability of tools to use in the comfort of your own space, meaning that your healing process resonates with you at a deeper and richer level. The other awesome thing? Because I am licensed in both CT and VA, I can meet with you whether you are located in Hartford, New Haven, Stamford, Wallingford, Richmond, Falls Church, Virginia Beach, or Newport News. Online therapy opens up more access and removes barriers to mental health care.
